RENDEL ELECTED CHAIR OF NEW ALL-PARTY ROWING GROUP

David Rendel MP has been elected Chair of the newly-formed All Party Parliamentary Rowing Group.
David's interest in rowing goes back to the time when he rowed for Oxford in the record-breaking Boat Race crew of 1974.
Commenting Mr Rendel said:
"I am delighted to have been chosen by my colleagues to chair this important new All Party Group.
"Rowing is a British success story and our most successful Olympic sport. Our aim is to encourage more people to take it up so that this record can continue.
"We will be working hard to ensure that the facilities are in place for Britain to host the World Rowing Championships in 2006 and the Olympics in 2012."
