RACING NEEDS MORE SECURITY

David Rendel MP spoke in today's parliamentary debate on the Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Bill, and argued that the racing industry should be given financial security.

Commenting, Mr Rendel said:

"It is welcome that the Government is at long last legislating so that the Tote can be sold to a racing industry trust. But the selling price should be negotiated in advance and included in the bill, so that this important industry is given the financial security that it needs."
