RENDEL ASKS LOCAL PEOPLE TO VOTE ON BILL TO BE INTRODUCED IN PARLIAMENT12.18.50pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 18th May 2004 A new opinion poll has been launched on the web-site of David Rendel MP - www.davidrendel.org.uk - asking local people to choose the topic of a Bill to be introduced in Parliament. Mr Rendel has the opportunity to introduce a Private Member¡¦s Bill in the House of Commons and is asking local people to choose between two topics - A Bill to ban smoking in public places, or A bill to support rural cinemas Mr Rendel said: "People can vote by logging on to www.davidrendel.org.uk. I hope as many people as possible will have their say. The most popular choice will be the subject of my Bill." The deadline for voting is midday on Tuesday. ENDS.
